Beyond Declarations: Climate Action Now

 

The climate crisis is an urgent reality, but action is not being taken quickly enough.

At climate COP27 in Egypt this November, governments must move beyond declarations, promises and pledges to immediate real-world action to address the climate crisis. This means implementing ambitious, credible and concrete transition plans and delivering now on climate finance promises.

Over the next six weeks, our new Beyond Declarations hub will showcase videoed conversations between Mary Robinson and youth activist Vanessa Nakate, guest blogs, and other resources focused on the continent of Africa.

As COP27 prepares to take place, it is vital that the experiences of people living on the frontlines of the climate crisis on the African continent are centered and heard.

 

Ahead of COP27 in November, the Elders lay out their calls to action for climate justice and a liveable future: on climate adaptation, loss and damage and an inclusive COP that goes beyond listening to the usual voices.
